Jacqueline Brewer, Sophomore guard from Martinsburg, WV transferred to Mount St. Mary’s last year after her freshman year at Virginia Commonwealth University. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Jackie had to sit out during the 2011-2012 season. She is now back in full force ready to contribute not only in practice but in games! We recently caught up with Jackie and asked her a few questions.
- What has been the hardest part of sitting out a full year due to the NCAA transfer rules?
The hardest part has been not being able to travel or contribute in the games. - What have you learned while sitting on the sidelines?
From watching, I have learned how much hard work our team puts in and how much we need each other to get to the next level, which is winning a championship. - If you could re-do last year all over again, what would you do differently?
I would have focused more on the little things that I needed to improve on to make myself that much better for this year. - What are you most excited about this season?
I am excited to just be able to finally get on the court and play. - How do you see yourself contributing to the team?
I am going to give my 100% best and do everything that is asked and expected of me - What is your favorite thing about the Mount Family?
How close everyone is and how well we get along. I came in and felt right at home.
